• Question: If Community isn’t renewed and this is your last day on set ever, what will you take away from this experience and what will you miss the most?
• Gillian Jacobs: I’m going to cry. It so far exceeded my expectations of what the show would be. This is one of the best pilots I’ve ever read, so already my expectations were high. Then shooting the pilot -
• [Jacobs begins to cry.]
• Yvette Nicole Brown: Oh, it’s OK, Stinkers. She’s such a pretty crier. My God, she’s a pretty crier.
• Gillian Jacobs: I’ve never worked with a group of people that have impressed me so consistently on such a daily basis. I feel like given the nature of this show, we’ve been thrown everything from an action movie to a noir to My Dinner With Andre. Everybody rose to it every single week. The writing and the creativity and the scope and the ambition of the show has been— [Jacobs’s sobbing becomes ragged.]
• Yvette Nicole Brown: Oh, well. I can’t sit here and not hug you.
• [Brown and Brie embrace Jacobs.]
• Gillian Jacobs: Yeah. For all the people that have only heard about our show—it’s spoofs, it’s pop culture, it’s genre—they’re missing the fact that these are different, new characters on television that people have grown to love. So even when we do an episode which is set in the apartment and there’s no obvious spoof or takeoff, people still want to watch it because they love and care about these characters.
• [Brie begins to cry.]
• Yvette Nicole Brown: Oh, Stinker, what’s happening? Oh, my girls. Oh, my little pumpkins.

1x08 Home Economics DVD Commentary

Dan Harmon: Yvette Nicole Brown has a drinking problem.
Joel McHale: Dan has been tweeting about how drunk Yvette is getting during these DVD commentary sessions. 

Dan Harmon: Yvette is kind of a teetotaller. She doesn’t really drink. She basically doesn’t.
Joel McHale: She smokes a ton of pot but she doesn’t drink. 

Dan Harmon: There she is. Old Drinks-A-Lot. 

Dan Harmon: Were you disturbed by the incident on set with Yvette Nicole Brown in this scene? Was that happening far enough away on the Paramount lot? 
Joel McHale: We felt it. But we were on lockdown at that point.
Dan Harmon: You try to seal off stages for audio purposes but when someone has the DTs and they start shrieking about spiders… 
Danny Pudi: The next day was when they started checking everybody’s pee. 
Dan Harmon: Oh, Yeah, well..and not because…not as a test. But because someone had peed all over Paramount and they were trying to figure out who it was. Well, guess?
Joel McHale: It was pretty embarrassing.
Dan Harmon: It rhymes with gillette. 
Joel McHale: When you have one of your cast members literally running around your work place, whizzing all over the place. It’s really weird.

1x12 Comparative Religion DVD Commentary

Yvette Nicole Brown: Are we gonna start by talking about how much I don’t drink? Should we do that first?
Joel McHale: The episode we talked about you drinking is so far away from this episode…
Yvette Nicole Brown: If you listen to all these commentaries, I’m the only person in the cast and crew that does not drink. Except for Gillian. 

Yvette Nicole Brown: I hate you, Dan Harmon. I do not drink everybody. Good Lord.
